Woman shot, killed in Gastonia home, police say

GASTONIA, N.C. -- A woman was shot and killed early Saturday morning in a Gastonia neighborhood. 

Police responded to several calls of reported gunshots at 12:24 a.m. Saturday. The calls stated that the shots were heard on the 900 block of Nottingham Drive.

According to police reports, bullet holes were found on the front siding and in front windows of the residence.

One person is reported to have been killed.

Police have not made an arrest in the case at this time.

Police also have stated that three vehicles were vandalized. The nature of the damage was not disclosed in the report.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspect involved. Anyone who has information is asked to call Gastonia Police Detective Robert Bryson at 704-866-6702 or Crime Stoppers of Gaston County at 704-861-8000. Crime Stoppers pays up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
