Reward again increased in Stanly Co. murder case

STANLY COUNTY, N.C. -- Authorities are hoping the offer of cold, hard cash will bring in new clues related to a murder that's gone unsolved for more than a year.

The Stanly County Sheriff's Office updated the reward for information in death of Jason Burleson.

He was found shot to death in his home in on Groves Avenue near Albemarle last May. Investigators say he was duct taped to a chair in the basement.

The Governor's office is pledging $5,000 in reward money. That's on top of the $2,500 being offered by Crime Stoppers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Stanly County Sheriff's Office.
