Six arrested in Lincolnton sex predator sting

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Detectives with the Lincolnton Police Department have arrested six men as part of an undercover investigation aimed at online sex predators that target children.

Delvin Roger Fox, 47, of Hickory, has been charged with solicitation of a child by a computer for an unlawful sex act and appearing to meet the child. He was arrested on October 4 and was given a $50,000 bond and placed in the Lincoln County Jail. Investigators say he has no prior criminal history.

On September 15, Chris Scott Nance, 43, of Mooresville, was arrested and charged with solicitation of a child by a computer for an unlawful sex act and appearing to meet the child. He was also placed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $50,000 bond and has no prior criminal history.

Thirty-year-old Mattew Wade Packard of Cherryville was arrested on September 27 and charged with solicitation of a child by a computer for an unlawful sex act and appearing to meet the child. He was given a $25,000 bond and placed in the Lincoln County Jail. Police say he has no prior criminal activity.

Detectives arrested Terrence John Reed, 55, of Lincolnton on September 26. He was charged with solicitation of a child by a computer for unlawful sex act and appearing to meet the child. He was also charged with disseminating obscene images to a minor and placed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $75,000 bond. Police say he has no previous convictions, but has two counts of sexual battery pending in Lincoln County.

Monte Lynn Wall, 63, was arrested on September 29 and charged with solicitation of a child by a computer for an unlawful sex act and appearing to meet the child. He also faces charges for disseminating obscene images to a minor. Wall has no prior criminal history and was placed in the Lincoln County Jail under a $50,000 bond.

On September 23, Jeffrey Ralph Talbott, 63, of Taylorsville, was arrested and charged with solicitation of a child by a computer for an unlawful sex act. He was also charged with appearing to meet the child and dissemination obscene images to a minor. He was given a $70,000 bond.
