South Charlotte bank robber on the run, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect in a south Charlotte bank robbery.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, a male suspect entered the SunTrust Bank at the Park Road Shopping Center around 9:20 a.m. Investigators said the suspect approached a bank employee and indicated that he had a weapon. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, police said the suspect ran from the bank.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’2”-6’5”, weighing 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing black jeans, a white t-shirt, and a Charlotte Hornets hat. He had a white shirt covering his face.
