A Forest Hills High student will be facing multiple charges after police say he brought knives and a hit list to school.

UNION COUNTY, N.C. – A Forest Hills High School student accused of bringing several knives and a hit list to school in a backpack will face multiple charges.

According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, the student will be charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction and possession of a weapon on school property.

Because the suspect is under the age of 16, his name will not be released, investigators say. On May 9, a school resource officer found several knives, a bottle of flammable liquid, fireworks, a dismantled shotgun shell, and a hit list inside the student’s backpack.

SBI investigators say they received a tip from Canadian law enforcement about a student plotting to stab several students at the school.
