Two arrested in Huntersville break-ins

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Police in Huntersville are investigating after six businesses were targeted by burglars early Monday.

According to Huntersville Police, officers learned that multiple businesses were broken into, they were Subway, Little Caesar’s, Small Cakes, Papa Murphy’s, Pinky’s and NY Bagel.

Officers responding to the scene saw a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed and were unable to catch the vehicle and lost sight of it in the area of Gilead Road. A short time later, officers responded to a crash near the intersection of Beatties Ford Road and Carrington Pointe Drive. A witness told police that all of the people inside the vehicle ran from the scene after the collision.

Officers found evidence inside the vehicle that appeared to be linked to the break-ins. Two men were apprehended by police after they were allegedly knocking on doors and asking for rides to Charlotte. Police have not identified the suspects but did say that criminal charges are pending.

Huntersville detectives are working with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, Fort Mill Police, and investigators in York County due to similar crimes in the area.
