CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queen City is now days away from the Democratic National Convention and major preparations are underway.
NewsChannel 36 found some of the coolest preparations at Charlotte’s Ritz Carlton. In front of the hotel, a professional sand sculptor is building a special DNC themed sand castle.
Inside the hotel pastry chef, Josh Cain, spent 95 hours building a 5’7” woman made entirely of chocolate and dressing her in red, white and blue.
Also gearing up for the convention is Randall York of Cloister Honey. He’s the beekeeper that harvests the hotels honey on the rooftop garden.
He brought his gear to the hotel a week early knowing security would make things difficult next week. He’ll host a special tour for some of the hotel guests next week.
