CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Participants in one of two planned protests marched through uptown on Wednesday afternoon and blocked one busy intersection.

Police walked with Occupy protesters as they marched down South Tryon Street around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Several protesters were chanting and carrying signs with slogans opposing big corporations and environmental issues.

The protesters stopped their march in the middle of Trade and Tryon streets, with several people chanting on bull horns.

There have been no reported arrests, said NewsChannel 36's Glenn Counts, who has been covering the protests all day.
