CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- There's no doubt, the stars flocked to Charlotte for the Democratic National Convention.

And when they weren't busy making appearances at Time Warner Cable Arena, there was one place they seemed to go.

One of the owners of 5 Church Restaurant, Alejandro Torio, had to turn away some lunch customers. He gave his staff a break because they’ve been working so hard all week.

“It was a crazy week it was a lot of fun,” Torio said.

NewsChannel 36 cameras caught Alfree Woodard on her way in Wednesday for a private party. Turns out -- Jessica Alba, Elizabeth Banks and Zach Braff were also there.

“They were very friendly...loads of people outside taking pics and getting autographs so that was great,” Torio said.

NewsChannel 36 chatted with MC hammer when he finished up lunch there and there were others.

“He was here having lunch and people just started showing up.”

Bridesmaids Rose Byrne, Tony Shaloub, Tim Daly, Wayne Knight -- Seinfeld’s Newman.

The big names meant big money -- Torio estimates they more than doubled their usual week's take.

“It was my business partner Patrick created relationships with certain individuals in DC and west coast and then us working PR.

The restaurant got mentions is some big national publications -- and now they're hoping to capitalize on the buzz.

“People were reading about the restaurant and they never knew about it until they saw it over twitter, they’re saying ooh I want to make dinner reservations.

"I was happy for Charlotte for our restaurant – it was a big thing, thank you DNC," Torio said.
