Web shows, mobile additions highlight WCNC DNC coverage

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- From social media and daily live web video shows to mobile app enhancements, WCNC.com is ready for the Democratic National Convention.

Mobile:

By downloading the WCNC mobile app--available on Apple, Android and Blackberry devices--as well as our HD iPad app, users will see special DNC sections loaded with stories, weather, video of speeches and DNC maps around uptown. 

Visitors will be able to enjoy special sections outlining where to eat and where to visit around town as well as security access maps for uptown.

Live Video:

NewsChannel 36 and news partner The Charlotte Observer will team up for live web-exclusive video shows and chats.  Starting Sunday, WCNC.com and CharlotteObserver.com will host daily Google+ hangouts at 2 p.m.  Those live video chats will include several special guests and outline the latest news, weather and traffic conditions.

Along with the G+ chats, NewsChannel 36 will present web shows beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday live from inside Time Warner Cable Arena.  These shows, which will be streamed on WCNC.com and the mobile apps, will show the DNC speeches and will include political analysis, politicians and other news makers live on set.

Social Media:

The @CharlotteDNC account is Charlotte media's largest Twitter account covering the #DNC2012 and will have up-to-the-second updates, photos, links and more throughout the DNC.
