CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- During the Democratic National Convention, Charlotte will play host to a whole lot of important people who will be doing a whole lot of partying.
The Mint museum is one of 12 Charlotte venues that will host welcome parties for delegates.
"I hope they will realize what an incredible city Charlotte is and what a cultural center for the arts it has become,” said museum spokeswoman Hillary Cooper.
Cooper said the delegate party will offer some real southern hospitality.
“Charlotte-inspired cuisine, wonderful beverages, camaraderie with local Charlotteans as well as those that have travelled from around the world,” she said.
The N.C. Music Factory will host 15,000 members of the media.
“It’s gonna be fantastic. We're so excited to be hosting the largest conglomerate of media on planet earth,” said co-owner Noah Lazes.
During the convention, the Music Factory will also host a number of private parties.
“Private parties galore. Sure you saw the announcement of Foo Fighters at the Fillmore playing a venue that only holds 2,000 people,” said Lazes.
Cooper added, ”We just hope they’ll walk away completely blown away by Charlotte telling all their friends and family they need to come back and visit.”
