CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- When the Democratic National Convention comes to town, so will 'The Daily Show' host Jon Stewart. His camp scouted out Imaginon in uptown to be their temporary studio for the week.

Getting the space ready takes a lot of work and NewsChannel 36 was able to get an inside-look at the transformation Thursday.

There's a lot of work to be done, including painting over the floors to create Stewart's stage.

Imaginon is home to a children's theater and 'The Daily Show' is bringing in about 125 staff members to revamp the place.

Once the filming is finished, it will take about a week and a half to transform Imaginon back to its original state.

'The Daily Show' is also filming at the Republican National Convention in Tampa next week.
