CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two men have been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a check-cashing store on Wednesday morning.

When police arrived on scene, two employees said they were robbed at gunpoint. An officer saw a man behind the check-cashing store who was trying to stuff a gun in his pocket.
When the man saw the officer he ran off. Police later caught the man, who was identified as Smallwood, according to the police report.
Police also realized a second person was involved in the robbery, according to the report.
Howard was arrested while at work later and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping.
