CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- One person was hospitalized for treatment of injuries sustained after being struck by a car late Saturday night in Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police were breaking up a house party in the 11 o'clock hour off Independence Boulevard when one person fled the home on Independence Boulevard and was hit by a passing car.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his shoulder.

No charges are expected to be filed against the driver.

The incident took place on Independence Boulevard off the Briar Creek exit.

The names of the driver and victim have not been released.
