CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Doesn't it feel like Labor Day just passed not too long ago? The calendar may still say September, but the Christmas holiday decorations are already out across Charlotte.
Some, though, will help raise money for a good cause.
In Statesville, it’s ‘snowing.’ It may seem too early for the first fake flakes, and too early for Christmas decorations, for some, but at the Statesville Habitat for Humanity re-store, they're getting ready to put the Christmas items on the sales floor.
The store is similar to a thrift store, except that everything is donated and all the profits go to Habitat for Humanity.
All the Christmas stuff came from Lowe’s, headquartered not too far away. While they admit it’s still early in the season, they say they’re just keeping up with everyone else.
“We typically have always shot for mid-October range because that just seemed to be when other stores put their stuff out to compete with them and be able to offer things at lower prices,” said worker Renee Gregory.
Everything you could possibly want for a Christmas display is on hand, from the tree to the lights to yard figurines. The sale kicks off October 6 with a special celebration.
