CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Homicide detectives are investigating the case of two bodies found inside a home in Charlotte's Freedom Division.

Just after noon on Wednesday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit was called to the 4900 block of Winchester Street to conduct a death investigation.

A witness called 911 and reported finding two victims inside the home, both suffering fatal gunshot wounds. Medic responded and pronounced both dead on the scene.

Officials say detectives are investigating the death as a possible domestic case, and are not pursuing other suspects at this time. They continued that the shooting does not appear to be a random act of violence, as both subjects are known to each other.

The victims have not yet been identified pending notification of next of kin.

If you have any further information to assist investigators in this case, please contact (704) 432-TIPS and ask to speak to a homicide detective.
