CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. --  The woman who pleaded guilty to killing and dismembering her disabled stepdaughter was sentenced on drug charges in federal court on Monday.

Elisa Baker was sentenced to 10 years on federal conspiracy with intent to distribute prescription drugs.

Elisa will serve her latest sentence consecutively with her 15 to 18 year sentence for the second-degree murder or Zahra Baker.

According to filed documents and court proceedings, Elisa conspired to distribute and possess with intent to distribute Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and Alprazolam.

U.S. Attorneys said Elisa maintained residences in Granite Falls, Hudson and Hickory for the purpose of distributing the prescription pills.

According to plea documents and Monday's sentencing hearing, Elisa possessed 12,000 doses of Oxycodone, 10,000 doses of Hydrocodone and 29,000 doses of Alprazolam.

Authorities also said in court she distributed the drugs to a co-conspirator, a then 16-year-old, and several of his high school friends.

Elisa pleaded guilty to the charge in January 2012.

Federal sentences are served without the possibility of parole.

Zahra, a two-time cancer survivor, was 10 years old when she was killed and dismembered in September 2010. Elisa Baker, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in Zahra’s death in September 2011, but her skull had never been found before late last month in Caldwell County.

The skull was found in the woods on Winkler Way off N.C. 268 on by a hunter.

The NC SBI Crime Lab, the state medical examiner and Marshall University in West Virginia worked to compare a DNA profile used in the case against Elisa Baker to match the skull with Zahra Baker.

Officials say cellphone records place Elisa Baker at the skull site.  An examination, however, was not able to provide more information on how Zahra was killed.

Baker was sentenced to 15-18 years in prison on the second-degree murder charge.
