CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Officials are investigating a fire at an east Charlotte business Monday morning.
The fire broke out Monday morning at a car wash that used to be a gas station on Monroe Road near Briar Creek Road.
Firefighters say they had a hard time putting the fire completely out. NewsChannel 36 learned it started on the outside of the building and moved into the roof area.
The business wasn't open and no one was hurt, according to officials. Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire.
Crews briefly closed one lane on Monroe to fight the fire, but has since reopened all lanes.
