CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. -- Emergency management officials are working to clean up a fuel spill on Lake Rhodiss.
Late Monday morning, officials say a truck unloading a boat rolled into the the water at the Gunpowder Wildlife Access, spilling 20 to 30 gallons of gasoline. The truck was nearly completely submerged.
A sheen of gasoline could be seen on top of the water, officials say.
Stat Incorporated of Hudson, a hazardous material clean up company, are working to place booms on the water to soak up the fuel.
No one was injured.
