CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The long awaited Publix stores will open in Fort Mill and Indian Land on October 24.

Decisions decisions.

In the grocery store wars, the lines are drawn in the parking lot and the parking lot at the new Publix in Fort Mill is now ready to go.

That means people living in the area will be choosing between Harris Teeter, WalMart, Aldi’s, Bi-Lo, Trader Joe's, Earth Fare, Whole Foods and more.

Shoppers we talked to say they’re starting to get a lot of emails and coupons with special offers trying to keep them loyal

The women Told NBC Charlotte  it’s about pricing, convenience and selection and they often stay loyal to a specific store.

But they admit -- switching sides is always a possibility and they’re excited to check out the store with all the buzz – Publix.

They’re also hoping the new stores will mean more competition and better pricing. A spokeswoman for Publix tells us other Charlotte area stores are a possibility.
