CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- One person was seriously hurt after being hit by a vehicle in east Charlotte late Friday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were called to the intersection of Central Avenue and Albemarle Road around 11 a.m.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident, and have not yet filed any charges.

One victim was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, according to Medic.
