Police: 4 charged in Charlotte, Matthews robberies

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police charged four men Tuesday in connection with robberies in Charlotte and Matthews.

Police said the men conducted a well-organized crime ring that robbed two Kangaroo Express convenience stores in Charlotte and a CVS pharmacy in Matthews.

Authorities charged Zachary Nathaniel Graves, 23, with three counts each of robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. 

Omar Markabi, 17, was charged with two counts each of robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Walter Pries, 21, was charged with one count each of robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Richard Fiske, 21, charged with one count each of robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

All four men were charged in connection with the CVS robbery in Matthews last Friday.

Graves and Markabi also are charged with a March 23 robbery of a Kangaroo Express on Charlottetowne Avenue, according to the police report.
