CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte and surrounding areas are preparing for snow Tuesday, with a chance for accumulation.
Most of the white stuff will fall east and south of the Queen City. As of Monday afternoon, it looks like there could be an inch of snow in Mecklenburg County, but just a dusting north and west of the city.
Light snow should fall across the viewing area through midnight Tuesday as temperatures dip to the teens.
The Department of Transportation is attempting to get ahead of the snowfall by prepping streets and bridges with salt brine on Monday.
