BURKE COUNTY, N.C. -- A tractor-trailer carrying glue overturned on Interstate 40 in Burke County Tuesday morning.
Authorities said the crash happened around 3 a.m. on I-40 at exit 100 near Jamestown Road.
All eastbound lanes on I-40 were briefly blocked and delays are still heavy in the area. Authorities said no one was seriously hurt in the accident.
Crews from the North Carolina Department of Transportation are working to clear the scene and said the glue material is not hazardous.
Motorist are being detoured off I-40 at exit 100 and will have to use U.S. 70. Motorists then can follow U.S. 70, U.S. 64 bypass east back to I-40 exit 103.
