CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A west Charlotte neighborhood is in fear following two shooting just seven hours apart.
One of the incidents occurred on Deherradora Avenue, the other on Blessing Street. The two streets intersect and are located off Wilkinson Boulevard.
"The second time it happened last night we was in there looking at the Panther game and dozed off and went to sleep, and I heard 20 to 30 shots," said a resident who did not want to be identified.
His home was shot up; fortunately nobody inside was hurt. That shooting occurred around 11 Monday night.
The first incident occurred around 4 o'clock. Gerald Beckham, 22, was shot in his left forearm and is currently in the hospital.
"He's doing pretty good," said Jarale Beckham, the victim's cousin. He says the family doesn't know why Gerald was shot.
Selena Cofield is a close friend. Whe says she is worried because the gunman has not been caught.
"Of course we are, because I have children. My sister has two kids… We’re worried, like, ‘what if they come back,’" Cofield expressed.
Police have not said if the two incidents are related, but they are confident they are not random events, and say that all of the participants know each other.
