2 schools on lockdown after attempted break-in at east Charlotte home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- School officials say two CMS schools were placed on lockdown after an attempted break-in at an east Charlotte home.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a call of a breaking and entering of a home in the 5800 block of Brickstone Drive. The suspects fled on foot before making an entry to the house, CMPD said.

Independence High School on Patriot Drive and Northeast Middle School on Brickstone Drive were both placed on a lockdown for a little less than an hour.

Officials said no one is in custody from the break-in attempt.
