CHARLOTTE, N.C. – WBT-AM radio host Keith Larson, a fixture on the station since 2002, won’t be on-air at the station much longer.

On his show Wednesday morning, Larson announced that Greater Media, WBT’s owner, would not be renewing his contract when it expires in about a month.

A call to WBT’s program director was not returned.

During his show, Larson said he’ll now work full-time at the consulting company he’s formed: Larson Advertising and Media Associates, or LAMA for short. He said he was grateful for his time at the station, but also bemoaned some of the changes.

“I have loved WBT,” he said on his show.  “But I think most of you guys know WBT hasn't been WBT for a while now."
