Earth Day

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Earth day is April 22. It is a day designated to bring awareness to environmental issues.

There are several events taking place this weekend.

Earth Day Charlotte takes place on Saturday at Ray’s Splash Planet. It is a free event from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. There will be a number of activities for the kids, and demonstrations on how you can be earth friendly.

The Schiele Museum of Natural History in Gastonia is also hosting an Earth Day event on Sunday April 20 . There will be a number of activities for the entire family to enjoy from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

There is a puppet parade where people are encouraged to dress as their favorite plant or animal and take part in the parade. Speakers and demonstrations will also be at the event to give people ideas on contributing to our community.
