CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- As a convicted felon, Ahmah Norris wasn't allowed to own a gun in the first place, but now he's on the run after shooting and almost killing a man.

Police say Norris heard his mother arguing with his step-father and tried to confront him in their Washington Heights apartment.

Then, Norris pulled a gun and aimed at the second story window where his stepfather stood. The victim was shot in the chest and police say he is lucky he didn’t die.

If you know where Norris is, you could get cash for helping police find him.

Norris is 5-feet-7, 150 pounds.

He may be hiding in the Beatties Ford Road or Pitts Drive areas.

If you know of his whereabouts call the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team at 704-336-8228.
