CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- His arrest history in Charlotte starts the day he was old enough to have one.

And the most recent charges against Darius Gause involve threatening a woman holding a baby.

"He has a history of everything from domestic violence issues, assault on a female, drug charges, larceny of vehicles, those kinds of things," said Detective Jason Peetz.

Just last month police nabbed Gause but he was released the next day. Then, a few weeks later, police say he committed his worst crime yet.

"That's definitely a concern when you're talking about a weapon, a young child and a female," Peetz said.

Investigators say Guase went to a west Charlotte apartment and pointed a gun at his girlfriend, threatening to kill her. She was holding a 4-month-old baby at the time.

"That's a pretty cowardly act to be honest with you," the detective said.

Neighbors say he hasn't been around since and he's run from them before. Investigators are running out of known hiding spots to find him.

"There's always somebody that knows and is assisting him and, in this case, there may be some family cooperating with him and not helping us any," said Peetz.

Gause, 22, is 5-feet-11, 170 pounds. He is wanted for multiple assaults on women. He sometimes works as a mechanic and may be in the Hidden Valley area.
