CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police say he regularly assaults women and has told family the cops are going to have to find him if they want to arrest him.
Investigators say they're confident our viewers can help bring him in.
Shannon Lawrence has been arrested 26 times on dozens of charges.
"His arrests go back all the way to 1995. When he was old enough to start getting arrested, he did," said Sgt. Steve Winterhalter.
Lawrence, 31, has a history of robberies and drug charges. But mostly police say he likes to hit women.
"We’re concerned because he’s got a history of this. Oftentimes we see violence escalate in relationships,” says Winterhalter.
That's why police are once again looking for him.
This time they say he was with a girlfriend, hit her, then stole her minivan and left it at a motel off of Sugar Creek Road.
“He’ll hang out with different prostitutes at this hotel or develop different girlfriends as he moves around the city. That's who we anticipate he’s with,” says Winterhalter.
He is easy to spot with distinct tattoos. His left arm says "704 boys" and his right says "hated by many, loved by few."
Police say they need the public's help finding him.
“We’ve talked to family and associates. He does know that he’s wanted and he has put up the challenge that we find him and said its going to take us finding him before he gets locked up,” says Winterhalter.
