MONROE, N.C. -- People stood in line for hours Saturday for a chance to get their swine flu vaccine.
The Union County Health Department held a swine flu clinic at Piedmont High School in Monroe. They gave out shots on a first come, first served basis.
"It's a highly contagious virus and unfortunately it started last April and we don't see viruses like this and it's been going on all year," says Union County Health Director Phillip Tarte.
Those health officials also say the state is getting more doses every week. So, if you didn't get a chance to get your shot there will be other chances soon.
