New rules in effect to stop spread of Whooping Cough

There are new rules out meant to stop the spread of whooping cough. One change makes the schedule of shots easier to understand, and the other adds a vaccine for pregnant women.

Expectant mothers should receive the shot close to the time of delivery to boost their immunity. That added protection can then be passed on to the baby.

Last year whooping cough cases rose to a 50-year high.
