CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- One man is dead and a second person is critically hurt after a shooting near uptown Charlotte late Thursday night.

Officers were called to the 1100 block of Fontana Avenue around 11:45 p.m. after someone reported two men had been shot.

The first victim, 47-year-old Michael Crawley, was transported to Carolinas Medical Center but died a short time later.  The second man was taken to Presbyterian Main and remains in critical condition, police say.

"The suspect vehicle was located a short distance from the scene," Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said in a statement.

CMPD have charged Cedric L. Mobley, 20, Phillip D. Henderson, 20, and Justin S. Dixon, 22, for murder and assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill or inflict serious injury.
