CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- One person has died and three are injured in a single-vehicle crash on icy roads in Charlotte overnight.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say the driver of a 2000 Nissan pickup truck lost control on icy roads in the 500 block of Tyvola Road and crashed into a median around 3 o'clock Sunday morning.

Tatiana Rivera, 20, was pronounced deceased on the scene by paramedics.

Hilda Jijon, 41, sustained serious injuries in the crash, officials say, and 46-year-old Isais Lucero suffered minor injuries.

The driver, 23-year-old Bairon Sandoval also sustained minor injuries, but was arrested following release from the hospital. Authorities charged him with DWI, felony death by vehicle, felony serious injury by vehicle and no operators license.
