Rock Hill police seek 2 in fatal hit-and-run

ROCK HILL. S.C. – Police in Rock Hill named two suspects in a fatal hit-and-run that happened last Saturday. 

Rock Hill PD say a black Chrysler 300 with a paper tag was driving on Russell Street, ran the stop sign and struck a motorcycle in the intersection and continued up an embankment and crashed into a wood line.

The driver of the Chrysler, identified as Gilverto Josue Corniel, of Charlotte, then fled the scene on foot and a short time later carjacked a vehicle on Oates Street and fled the area. The operator and sole occupant of the motorcycle was ejected and died at the scene, according to the press release. The victim was identified as 21-year-old Joshua Moore of Rock Hill. 

Rock Hill Police investigators now have active warrants for Corniel's arrest on a charge fo leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. Police have also issued a warrant for the arrest of Victoria Jaye Kistler, on charges of obstructing justice. 

The crash happened just feet from Michelle Colvin's front yard.

"Right in front of my home. Never saw anything like it," Colvin said. "I can't imagine losing someone special at this time like this around a holiday."

Rock Hill PD said the carjacked vehicle is a 2000 White Jeep Cherokee. Described as a "square body style" with a North Carolina tag of EAZ7956.
