CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police arrested three suspects Friday in connection with a south Charlotte murder.

The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. Thursday at the South Oaks apartments in the 7500 block of Kings Ridge Drive.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Bennett Eugene Miller was shot and killed during the incident.  Witnesses said several children were in the area at the time and heard the shooting.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested Antonio Torez Cousart Friday morning and charged him with Miller’s murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. A second man, Maurice Quema Wilson, was charged with accessory after the fact and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Investigators arrested Darryl Terrell Truesdale later in the day. He, too, faces murder charges, as well as possession of a firearm by a felon, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective.
