CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A crash early Sunday morning left one woman dead near Freedom Drive, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
Yosheka Quesaan Smith, 36, was driving a Nissan Maxima at about 3:45 a.m. on Edgewood Road when she veered to the right.
Investigators say she ran into the residential street's curb then over-corrected and ran off the road to the left. She hit a tree head on, crushing the front of her car.
Smith wasn't wearing a seatbelt, and died of her injuries at Carolinas Medical Center about an hour later.
No one else was injured in the wreck, and police are still investigating to determine the cause.
