IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- Troopers have identified the woman killed in a fiery crash late Saturday night.
North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Williamson says 39-year-old Danelle Merrill died in the single-vehicle crash.
It happened in Harmony near the 500 block of Jericho Road around 11:00.
Troopers say it appears the car veered off the road, hit a truck- trailer that was sitting on the side of the street, then burst into flames.
Authorities believe Merrill died on impact.
The vehicle appears to be a 1990s model Jeep Cherokee.
