CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A woman was shot outside of a a popular uptown Charlotte bar Thursday night by a stray bullet, according to police..

Officers said the woman was standing in line at Bar Charlotte in the 300 block of North College Street just before 11 p.m. when a shot was fired, hitting her.

Paramedics rushed her to Carolinas Medical Center for a shoulder wound. Police say her injuries are minor.

Officers say no one nearby heard a shot fired. They believe someone fired a shot into the air and the bullet hit the woman on the way down.

Officers were spread out around the bar looking for the gunman late Thursday night but no one has been arrested. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
