YORK COUNTY, S.C. -- South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating two accidents involving a logging trucks on Wednesday morning.
Troopers responded to a two vehicle crash on northbound SC 5 around 6:40 Wednesday.
Authorities say the logging truck slowed down, and was struck by a 1998 Ford F-150, causing the pickup truck to overturn.
The driver of the pickup, 61-year-old Elwyn Merle Tyre, was transported by air to CMC.
Then, SCHP responded to SC 97 at Grant Drive in Chester County just after 9 a.m. for a second crash involving a logging truck.
Officials say 19-year-old Jonathan Stowe was attempting to make a left turn on Grant Road in his two-door Honda when he was struck by an oncoming logging truck.
Stowe was also taken by air to CMC.
SCHP says both crashes are still under investigation.
