CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A CATS bus accident on North Tryon Street and East 16th Street has left 12 people injured Thursday morning.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the bus was traveling south on N. Tryon and a truck lost control and ran into the bus.
Emergency crews said seven victims were taken to Carolinas Medical Center -- Main and five taken to Presbyterian Hospital.
One person has potentially life threatening injuries, according to medic.
Commuters should expect delays in the area as police and emergency crews work the scene.
Police closed the road in both directions for a while, but they are permitting traffic to get through the area at times.
