2 charged with murder in S. Charlotte apartment shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police charged two men in connection with the shooting death of a 24-year-old man in south Charlotte.

Police arrested 38-year-old Jose Diaz-Garcia and 21-year-old Carlos Rosales. Both were each charged with murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

A 911 call came in around 4:44 a.m. Thursday in reference to an armed robbery. When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds inside an apartment of The Retreat at McAlpine Creek Apartments.

CMPD later identified the victim as Frolian Perdoma.

At least six people were in the apartment at the time of the shooting, CMPD says.

According to detectives, the victim and the suspects knew one another.
