2 injured following collision in South Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say two people sustained serious injuries following a single-vehicle collision in the 7000 block of Pineville-Matthews Road Sunday afternoon.

A Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck pulling an enclosed utility trailer ran off the road, traveled down an embankment and rolled laterally, according to a press release from CMPD.

The truck and trailer separated during the rollover and the Chevrolet Silverado came to rest on its roof in the grass and caught fire, said the press release.

Charlotte Fire and MEDIC responded to the scene and both driver and the passenger were transported to the hospital with injuries.
