HICKORY, N.C. -- Four people are in custody after police in Hickory found a kidnap victim bound with duct tape.
Hickory Police found the victim, Alfonso Moreno, around 3:30 Tuesday morning at a home just outside the city limits.
An acquaintance of Moreno's reported to police she had received a phone call demanding a ransom for his safe return.
Moreno was found safely at a home in the 1000 block of 21st Street Drive Southeast. Moreno received medical treatment at the scene for minor injuries.
Moreno told police he was kidnapped in the Lowe's parking lot on U.S. 70 Southeast in Hickory.
Jorge Alonzo Rentas, 21, of Chicago, Alejandro Zambrano, 23, of Orlando Park, IL, Gema Yadaria Zambrano, 23, of Chicago, and Orlando Zambrano, 19, of Chicago are each charged with kidnapping and felony conspiracy.
Rentas and Jorge Rentas are also charged with one count each of robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Police say they were each booked in to the Catawba County Detention Center under a $500,000 bond.
No further information on the case was made immediately available.
