Truck carrying Christmas trees overturns along Independence

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A load of holiday cheer turned into a morning of misery Friday for the driver of a truck and many other motorists on outbound East Independence Boulevard in Charlotte.
A truck carrying Christmas trees overturned about 7 a.m. on Independence Boulevard, a short distance west of the Eastway Drive exit.
The truck knocked down a power pole. Police say the driver of the truck was injured, but the extent of the injuries are not known.
