CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- An accident closed part of Providence Road early Tuesday morning.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police closed part of Providence Road near Alexa Road after a vehicle slammed into a power pole.

The crash is still under investigation. 

Traffic in both directions was being rerouted onto Providence Church Road and back out onto Providence Road on the other side of the crash.

This accident happened about a mile from McKee Road.

Roads blocked in uptown due to film crew

A film crew has blocked South Tryon Street at Stonewall Street.

Traffic is snarled on South Tryon, Stonewall, College and Church streets, and on several other nearby streets.

Police have not said how long the uptown roads will be blocked.
