Albemarle Police quickly arrest armed robbery suspect

ALBEMARLE, N.C. -- Tuesday evening, Albemarle Police made an arrest after responding to an armed robbery in progress at a supermarket.

Just before 8 p.m., officers quickly set up a perimeter around The Corner Supermarket in the 1100 block of West Main Street in Albemarle.

With the assistance of the Stanly County Sheriff's Office and a K9 unit, officers were able quickly able to locate the suspect, Ryan Andrew Liles.

Liles is charged with common law robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and communicating threats. He's held in the Stanly County Jail on $75,000 bond.
