CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- There are new details on how Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ leaders are handling the controversial bell schedule that some parents and teachers still oppose, two years after it was put in place.

In 2011, administrators added 45 minutes to the elementary school day and pushed the end time of dozens of elementary, middle, and high schools.

A committee of teachers, principals, parents and school leaders are finalizing a survey for the CMS community to weigh in on the issue.

That should be out in the next few months.
