CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are offering the community several opportunities to weigh in on the district's future Monday.
School leaders will consider the 2014-15 school calendar at Metro School on South Davidson Street in Charlotte from 4 p.m. -- 6 p.m.
The school board will consider calendar-instructional days, teacher workdays, holidays and make-up days.
The state assembly has amended school calendars state wide giving districts more flexibility with start and end dates.
A steering committee will come up with six different optional calendars and then teachers, staff and parents will weigh in on the final decision.
Also, Dr. Heath Morrison is hosting a town hall meeting at New Birth Church in Huntersville Monday night from 6:30 p.m.-- 8 p.m.
Morrison will discuss the future of the district as well as those 22 task forces created last December to help make those goals happen.
